My Duties with USS
Brinkly Bass
Sept 1971 -
Jul 1972
In
Sep 1971 USS Brinkly Bass (DD 887) had replaced the USS Ulhmann
(DD-687) as reserve ship in
Tacoma WA. and I continued to drill every third weekend.
Fall of 1971 I was advanced
to STG2.
In 1972 a new reserve ship,
an MSO, was assigned to Tacoma. The
PCO was
filling out the SelRes crew and invited me to join. I knew
nothing of mine sweeping, but it sounded interesting.
May 1972 I
transfered to the SelRes crew of USS
Implicit (MSO-455)
